Stephanie Thannhauser

I was looking back through Steph's paperwork today because I was sure she had been with us about 10 years, but in October this year she will have been with us for 12 years ! We sold her first print on the 8th of October 2002, and our first ever show that year was Indigo in Paris, we were stuck in a corner at the back of Hall 5 at the Parc Des Expositions, Paris. We came back to Indigo the following year and that was the year we got our first agents in the US, which was a very exciting time for us.
Steph always has a lot going on apart from doing prints for us, and she also runs her own blog at http://www.ric-rac-uk.blogspot.com. Her style is very much her own, fun cute characters and icons, and modern floral prints that always stand out in the print collection.
This is Stephs Bio Page from our original Cinnamon Joe Studio website. I can still look at the this site and laugh at the character antics, though we do have an exciting brand new website coming up in the summer, that is going to feature many of the artists who are with us now.

Over the years Stephs prints have sold to all sorts of clients from Fisher-Price to Toys R Us, and American Greetings to Paperchase, her artwork does lend itself very well to greeting cards.

12 years Steph, there wasn't even broadband back when we started !

An Irish Treasure : Foy Vance

Don't know an awful lot about Foy Vance except that he is Irish and has an amazing voice. It's been ages since he had an album out, Hope was excellent and now there is Joy Of Nothing. Having checked on Youtube he did some sessions at the Bushmills Distillery which is only about 30 miles from where we live - having heard the music it would have been to great to be there ! Here are two video's from the Bushmills sessions, the first is Closed Hand, Full Of Friends :

This one is called You & I

Goosebumps !

The Owl Has Landed :) !

We have been collecting owls for a few years now, but I have never seen one like this guy until I was browsing on ebay a couple of months ago. He is a total one off ( at least I hope he is a he :) and a lot bigger than what I thought he was when I bought him !  This owl stands about 7 - 8 inches tall, and whoever made him had the painstaking task of cutting sheets of metal into very thin strips and then moulding the owl into the shape you see here ! We love him ! I very carefully brought him back from the US on my last trip, and he now has pride of place on our hall window ledge. Not sure how he is but we think it is either the 1950's or 1960's.

Tiger Kitty in Target !

Tiger recently spotted her Sealife print on a bag in Target. She has been very busy over the past year building up her print portfolio in the collection, and her artwork has been doing very well, so it's good to see it out there on product !

Andrea at Camelot Fabrics !

Andrea has been really busy this past year, not only with artwork for the print collection, but also with several new projects. One of them was to create an exclusive range of prints for Camelot Fabrics in Toronto, and now we have seen the results we are really pleased with how the prints and colours have turned out on the fabric. The prints are in three collections :

Itty Bitty, a cute summer collection with little butterflies, bugs, and matching florals

Theodore & Izzy a mix of bear and bee and beautiful florals

Petite Plume gives the peacock theme a twist mixed with lots of modern florals

These fabrics are available from Camelot Fabrics : www.camelotfabrics.com. The good thing is that you can also read about the artists that created the designs on their website, it's a nice way to credit them for their amazing talents !

Also featured on www.printpattern.blogspot.com, and a big thanks to Bowie for featuring Andrea !

Jared & The Mill : Breathe Me In

Okay happy music time, only one album, only one official video ! To be fair though their first album is pretty good, and the one official video Breathe Me In is a lot of fun. I keep trying not to think of Mumford & Sons, but I guess I will have to live with the comparison ! They do fit very nicely alongside Mumford and the Lumineers ...

This is Breathe Me In :

Enjoy !
