Artisan !

Artisan topics are always fun to work on. Rich colours applied to pretty shapes in layer upon layer of differing techniques. Borders, ribbons, jewels, thick embellishment, twisting vines sprouting forth stylized flowers. Wonderful paisleys become hearts, birds and butterflies. Magical.

This little hand crocheted bear was bought in Spitalfields market on Andrea's recent trip to London. She has been named Mable and here she is among a myriad of cross stitch pompoms, beads, and tassles at a wonderful stall at the Saturday market in Portobello Road.

We wanted to bring special attention to the work of of artist John Rombola with his book Eclectic Eccentric. It has a really modern up to date  feel of folk art.
