St Patricks Day : Luke Kelly and Dubliners

We've been lucky enough to see the Dubliners live a few times, though not ever with Luke Kelly who died young at the age of 44, and was one of the founding members, This song is The Wild Rover, and sadly the only one still alive from this video is John Sheahan the fiddle player :

Happy St Patricks Day !

St Patricks Week 2011 The Dubliners

We went to see an Irish band on Saturday night called Danu, and it turned a into great night of traditional music and jokes. It reminded us of what we miss about Ireland, and why many Irish people get drawn back home again. They are on tour over here in the States, check the dates at their website : http://danu.net/.

So today to kick off St Patricks week, a band we have seen several times now, in big venues and small and we have always had an amazing evening. They are an institution in Ireland, and like they joke on stage - they have been on tour for over 40 years !

This is The Dubliners live playing the Irish Rover. The singer is Ronnie Drew who sadly passed away on 16th of August 2008.
